About

BRIEF HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION
Kokofu Nursing Training College was first established as a Health Assistants Training School on 1st February, 2008 through the initiative of the lateQueen Mother of Kokofu Tradition area, Osagyefo OtatuoFremah III. The school started with some structures of the Kokofu General Hospital, the former leprosarium.

The Bekwai Municipal Assembly renovated some of the existing structures and these were used as classrooms and hostels.
The school continued the training of Nurse Assistant Clinical students till 2014 when the Registered General Nursing programme was introduced. In 2019 the two year Post NAC/NAP Midwifery Programme was also introduced. Currently the college runs these three programmes with a student population of about 600.

PHILOSOPHY

We believe that quality training of Nurses and Midwives must reflect in improved healthcare to the society. We hope to achieve this through the provision of people centred nursing/midwifery activities within the multiple context of ethico-legal boundaries and sociocultural influences. This concept will ensure that students acquire the ability to analyze, synthesize and utilize knowledge to advance the practice of nursing.
